Upon arrival, system is showing a "low pressure " light. Reset system and attempted to fireoff while checking R-22 refrigerant pressures. Stagnant pressure is 110psi. System comes on but only runs for approximately 5 seconds. During operstion, suction pressure falls to 85psi and discharge rises to 1130psi. Low pressure switch is rated at 20psi. Checking through wiring diagram shows that a low pressure code can also occur when there is a heavy load from the compressor. Attempted to start up again while bypassing low pressure switch and reading amp draw on compressor. System comes on and initial start up amp draw was approximately 70A, and only dropping to 65A after five seconds before shutting off on low pressure code. Compressor has worn out, is causing high amp draw and will not operate anymore. Due to the age of the unit, manufactured in 1994, full system replacement is highly recommended.
2014 Comfort-Aire by Heat Controller running in good condition. Current air filter is in good condition. Visual inspection of blower and compesssor compartments for any damage or issues. None found. Test ran operation of electric heat strips. All strips are operating properly and within specs. Blower motor tested good. Temperature rise is within specs. Tested operation of geothermal heating aswell but did not test refrigerant pressures. Compressor is operating within Amp draw specifications. Refrigerant temperatures are within spec. Temperature rise is within specs. System is currently operating properly and within specs. No issues were found or suspected during inspection. System is operating properly, efficiently and ready for Winter.

Replacement warranty. Upon arrival, system is operating in heating mode. Shut system down to inspect door switch. Door switch is good. Checked code history and found codes for limit trip. Test ran unit and checked gas pressures. Both high and low stage pressures were about the range. Set low to 1.3inwc and high to 3.2inwc. Test ran both stages. Both stages operating within range at 45F temperature rise. No other issues found or suspected.
Preventative maintenence inspection on four furnace systems. All are running properly. Replaced/cleaned air filters. Replaced humidifier pads on functional humidifiers. Clean flame sensor and check ignitors. Visual inspection of burners. Flush condensation traps and drain lines. Run test each system in heating mode. All systems are operating within specs for temperature rise, and blower and inducer motor amp draw. Pvc flue vents in good condition and no sign of leaks. 0PPM CO detected during testing. Functional humidifiers tested for proper operation. Second floor furnace on the left side of the room has a damaged humidifier internal waterline. Due to damage, the water has been shutoff to prevent leaks. Water line will need replaced or possibly humidifier replaced if parts are not available. Upon arrival inspected system and found no major concerns. Listened for noise once in attic and couldn’t recreate noise they were getting. It is only when the furnace is running it was rattling was the information I was given, couldn’t get any noises from unit. Moved a large rodent trap to get to furnace, suspect the rodent trap was rattling because it engaged as soon as I bumped it. Informed homeowner to call us back if noise continues but cannot recreate noise at this time.
Upon arrival inspected system and found inducer motor was seized and not operating. Quote replacement inducer motor and test run system, furnace blower not cycling after heat up cycle. Blower getting power but will not come on. Capacitor 10mfd @ 10mfd motor bad and needs replaced. Will have to return tomorrow to replace furnace blower motor. Remove and replace blower motor test run heat. Clean blower wheel and housing of dust buildup due to electronic air filter. No concerns post repair

System was satisfying, desired temperature upon arrival. Inspected system and found no errors present. Homeowner informed me that furnace was back in a code one when he had to reset it. Informed homeowner that we will have to order the P1 pressure switch. To resolve issue due to a failed switch. Inspected drain and everything was clear and inducer motor was not pulling high amps. It was staying at 2.4 operational. Rated 2.7 Fla. unable to quote tonight due to being passed Goodman hours.
Basement East system is frozen solid. Turn fan on and will return for diagnosis once unit has thawed out.
Replacement warranty. Upon arrival, thermostat was in off mode. Inspected furnace for any obvious issues and found d that the furnace control board was not being powered. Removed door and pushed in door switch to check for power. With door switch pushed in by hand, the system came on. Put bottom door back on and noticed that the door was not pushing the door switch in all of the way as the door switch was hanging lower than it should be. Adjusted door switch for proper height and put door back on. With door on, system now has power. Turned thermostat to heating to check for any other issues. None found or suspected. Bob mentioned he would like a quote to install a ductless mini split in the garage. Photos on file of furnace for humidifier install, aswell as interior and exterior photos for mini split install.
Cycle system and found intermittent blower speed operation. Repaired blower speed electrical connections and blower is operating correct at this time. Returned system to normal operation.
